Tumbling classes

Robby and Jonny have been taking tumbling classes for the past few months. The class teaches coordination, balance, helps increase physical strength, builds their confidence, teaches them to follow directions and teaches how important physical exercise is! Plus it helps them burn off ALOT of extra energy! It has been a fun class and the boys love it!

A Pirate Party!!!

Robby choose to have a pirate party for his 5th birthday! He wanted to invite his 5 close friends from our neighborhood. The invitations read:

AYE, ME HEARTY,

AND HAVE FUN BEYOND MEASURE!

We played games like - Walk the Plank, Tic Toc Find the Croc, Pin the Treasure on the X, and of course a big treasure hunt! Plus we read pirate stories, made ocean bottles, had sword fights, and the kids also made a parrot...because every pirate needs a parrot! It was a great party!

Last week, Robby's preschool class went on their first field trip of the year! We went to a ranch and were able to pet and feed animals, play in a huge sandbox, jump in a bounce house and the highlight was a horse ride. Everyone had a great time!

This summer we spent a week with our families in Washington. We went to a couple parks and to the ocean for the first time! The boys loved every second they spent with their family!

This summer Robby was able to participate in his first summer sports program through our parks and rec center. He played baseball & soccer, went swimming and had a water balloon toss. He really enjoyed it and learned alot!

Fire Station Tour

Yesterday was Robby's last day of pre-school! We went on a field trip to the fire station and then to the park to play. The kids loved it! It was a great year and we made lots of good friends within our neighborhood through this co-op. We are looking forward to another fun year starting again in August.

Jonny's 2nd Birthday!

April 29th was Jonathan's 2nd birthday! He is a super smart little guy, thanks to his big brother who teaches him everything! At 22 months he learned most of his colors: red, blue, green, yellow, pink, purple and white. He also is starting to recognize letters: B, J, I, L, O, P, R, S and T.
He loves to sing and play outside. But his most favorite thing in the whole world is BALLS! Anything that is round is considered a ball: stop signs, stop lights, moon, door knobs, etc, etc. Whenever he sees something round, he'll shout BALL, BALL, BALL!
He is a sweet, loving little guy and we are truly blessed by him!

Robby and I made his birthday cake. We added round sprinkles.

and tried eating one sprinkle at a time...

I think he finally gave up on the sprinkles!

Pledge of Allegiance

Robby learned the whole Pledge of Allegiance this year from preschool!!!

We are so proud of him and very shocked because we haven't practiced this at home. He memorized the pledge by hearing it in preschool one day a week! Not bad for a 4 year old!!

If you listen closely, you'll hear Jonny crying in the background as an extra bonus!

A DinoMite Birthday!

Our sweet little boy has turned 4 years old! He is really into dinosaurs, so we threw him a dinosaur themed party and he got to invite six close friends. For games and activities we played pin the horn on the Triceratops, had a dino-dig for bones and treasures, went on a dinosaur egg hunt in the nesting grounds of our back yard, cracked open a large T-Rex egg, made a volcano erupt on dino land, read stories and had cake and ice cream! Everyone had a roarrrrring good time!
Its hard to believe that our sweet little boy is 4 years old. He is such a blessing to us and has brought so much joy in our lives! We love you Robby!

Halloween 2010

October was a crazy month. For two weeks we were in Washington for our cousins beautiful wedding and to visit with family. It was a great trip! Then we came home and both boys caught a cold. Once that cleared up we were ready for Halloween. We went to the pumpkin patch or pumpkin stack as Robby called it, we also went on a hay ride. Then we had a Halloween party with our preschool class, next we went to 2 trunk-or-treats, and a carnival! Busy, busy and FUN! Here are all the pictures from last month...enjoy!

This summer our friends Chrisite, David and their two boys were here for a visit. We had so much fun...and so did the boys!

This summer was fun, busy, full of lots of memories and lots of visitors!

During the month of July we had family, family and more family visiting! First up was our best friends Christie, David and their boys Andrew and Evan. Then Grandpa Bob and Grandma Linda. Next, Christie and the boys came back, and then Grandpa Bob and Grandma Linda came back. Somewhere in between that Uncle Art and Aunt Verna stopped by, and finally ended with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Karen! A little confusing? It was so much fun!

We enjoyed lots of warm sunshine, swimming, playing, BBQ's, the fair, the spray park, and the zoo just to name a few.

Jonathan was able to go swimming for the first time with Uncle Art. He LOVED it! I was amazed that he jumped right in and then kept dunking his face into the water. This boy is going to be a little fish!

(We had such a great visit with you Art and Verna! Miss you very much and will see you in a couple weeks!)

This summer Grandpa Tom and Grandma Karen were able to visit us for the first time! It was a very special trip and they were able to meet their 2nd grandchild! We had a great time visiting, playing and a fun trip to the zoo!
We had a wonderful time with you both and are so glad you came to visit us! We love you and miss you! Hope we can get together real soon!

1st Day of Preschool!

Today was Robby's first day at preschool! We decided to join with 5 other families in our neighborhood and start a co-op preschool for this year. We have such wonderful neighbors! This school year we will focus on learning shapes, colors, letters and their sounds. Plus we will have holiday parties and field trips! Robby is very excited, and so am I!

Today was beautiful outside, so we went to the water park for the first time this year! It felt great to splash and play in the water. This was Jonathan's first time at the water park and he really enjoyed it. We will definitely go more often if the weather will cooperate! It sure wears them OUT!!!

Jonathan's First Birthday!

April 29th was Jonathan's first birthday! He is such a blessing and joy to our family. Here are some of his recent accomplishments:

Will take about 5-7 steps at a time
Got his first 3 teeth (all within the last two months)
Is constantly eating anything and everything and will sit at your feet and beg for bites
His favorite foods are:
Squash, avocado, real sweet potatoes and yogurt (there is nothing that he dislikes!)
Has started wrestling with Robby
LOVES music and will stop playing or crying to listen to it
LOVES to be outside (especially likes the swings and slides at the park)
Loves the cute girls in the nursery at church
Loves bath time with his big brother
Will climb up on anything
LOVES to be held and snuggle

We will have is growth stats on Thursday...I know he is close to 20 lbs.

Robby is doing great! He is now 3 1/2 years old. His favorite thing in the whole world is still ANIMALS, ANIMALS, and more ANIMALS and talks about them nonstop! He has begun imaginary play which is really fun to watch and listen to. He has learned all his letters and even knows how to spell his name, can count to 20, but somehow always gets mixed up with the number 13, knows all colors and a few shapes. We still need to work on learning numbers.

Last week we had the opportunity to go to Seattle. It was a wonderful trip and we were blessed to visit our family, but wish we had more time with each of you!

Some highlights of the trip were Robby, Rob and Grandpa Bob going to the lake for a short fishing lesson. They didn't catch anything, but had a great time; Robby playing with his cousins Kylee, Heather and Emma and puppy Hershey, sadly he missed Ella because he had an earache. Also, we were able to have Jonathan dedicated at NW Church. The Lord has given us a very beautiful boy and we dedicated him back into the hands of the Lord for His purpose and plans. It was a very special moment for us as we promised before the church to raise him according the word and love of Jesus. God is so good!

Our little boy is now 9 months old! He is out of the cute baby stage and has now fully entered the busy toddler stage! He loves to explore everything and eat anything. He also loves to follow Robby around and has learned how to take toys and food away from him! Robby has learned how to hide from his little brother for his own safety.

We can't believe that Jonathan is 6 months old! Time truly goes bye too fast! He has brought so much joy and love into our lives and we are blessed with two great boys!

Linder Farms Pumpkin Patch

We visited Linder Farms with our friends last week and picked out a pumpkin. This was Robby's first trip to a pumpkin patch where he was able to pick out his own punkin (Previous years he was too young to understand what was going on!)
I didn't think he would pick out his own, so I decided to pick a small one for him. The one I found had dirt on it, as most pumpkins do. But Robby would not touch it or hold it. To my surprise he wondered through the patch and found his very own little, perfect punkin which didnt have any dirt! Once he found the right one, he carried it all day long. He even wanted to nap with it, but I was able to talk him into letting it sit on his dresser right next to his bed.
We were also able to go on a tractor ride and visit some animals at the farm. It was a fun day!

Robby got a new hair cut...in the 'before' pictures you can see how long it got over the summer. We try to push out the haircuts as long as possible because Robby likes to put up a big fight! Lots and lots of tears are involved! This time we cut it very short....he looks so much older!

Jonathan is now 4 1/2 months old. We started him on solids last week. But I decided to pull him off because he was waking up almost every hour at night and seemed really uncomfortable. So we will try solids again in a couple weeks.

The Fair

Summer would not be complete without a trip to the fair. This year Robby was tall enough to ride on his first carnival ride! We saw lots of animals and his favorite part of the trip was a horse ride. It was a fun and exhausting day!

These last 2 weeks have been busy! We drove from Boise to Seattle to surprise Grandma Carol for her 60th birthday! It was great to visit with the whole family and friends. The highlight of the trip was at the zoo...Robby and his cousins got to ride a real camel. They all had huge smiles on their faces! Robby also got to ride on a school bus for the first time, a big semi truck and many other things! Here are pictures of all the things he rode on within the last two weeks.

A surprise visit!

I am way behind on this post...but at least its finally here!

2 weeks ago, we got a wonderful surprise visit from my Mom and Aunt Verna. They were able to meet baby Jonathan for the first time and wear out Robby! It was a great week! We miss you all!

Jonathan is 9 weeks old! We had a fun trip to the doctors yesterday for his check up and here are his stats:

The Nature Center

Today, with our Moms group, we all went to the MK Nature Center. They had lots of stuffed animals, walking paths through the wilderness, and fun facts about animals. Robby loves, loves, loves anything to do with animals so he had a blast. Grandma Karen was able to join us too. It was a great trip (especially since Jonathan slept the whole time!!)!

Jonathan is 7 weeks old in these photos. I think he got his big cheeks from his Daddy! He is growing fast, weighs almost 11 lbs, and can hold his head up pretty well now. He likes to be held all day long and cries the second you put him down. He is spoiled with lots of love and kisses!

He has been carrying them all over the house in this little dish, dumping them out on the floor and picking them back up again. He calls them bugs which actually sounds like GUGS. Ohhh...the wonderful world of BOYS!!!

Our little Chunk

Today Jonathan is 1 month old! At birth he weighed 6lbs 13oz. The Doctor said that it usually takes 2 weeks to re-reach his birth weight and then babies will start to gain from that point forward. So according to that statistic, Jonathan should weigh somewhere between 7 - 8lbs. Today our little chunk weighed in at 9lbs 4oz! So as you can see, he is growing fast. I think most of the growth was in his cheeks! We think he is looking more like my side of the family, but it is hard to tell at this age.

Robby is adjusting well! He loves to hold his brother and try to kiss him. Here are some recent pictures of him playing in the water.

Froggy Boots

Robby got a new pair of green froggy boots! He loves them and hates to take them off. He has tried wearing them in the tub and also to bed. Thanks Grandma Carol!

Jonathan is 2 weeks old

Jonathan is 2 weeks old today and doing great. He is trying his best to hold up his head. Everyday he is getting stronger. His favorite thing to do is sleep. Then eat and poop. He does not mind having a dirty diaper. (Which is a good thing because right after I change it, he will make a mess and fall asleep two seconds later!) He only cries if he has gas or is getting his diaper changed. Robby is adjusting well. He loves to kiss and hug his new brother.

Here are some pictures of his first bath from last week. He loved being in the water. Cried when we took him out and then once he was dressed he was ready for bed.

This morning when Robby woke up he received a special package from Grandma Carol. His very own baby. (Only, Robby pronounces it as Diddy.) Since Robby sees Rob & I with baby Jonathan she thought it was a good idea to get him a baby so that he could copy what we are doing. So far he is doing a great job. I know some day he will be a good Daddy to his own Diddy.

Please join with us by welcoming Jonathan Lee Holden into our family! He was born on April 29th at 3:45am. Weight 6lbs 13 oz and 20 in long.

He decided to arrive 2 weeks early. My labor from start to finish was 45 minutes long. We barely made it to the hospital in time. (The doctor didn't even make it in time).

The Lord has definitely answered our prayers. (Every night Rob would pray for me that the Lord with give us a quick & safe delivery)! We are truly blessed by God's miracle of life!

This was Robby's first Easter Egg Hunt. We went to a park where a local church had 15,000 eggs and a very large crowd! It was a little overwhelming, but Robby did good. Once they let the kids go, it was a mad dash to get the eggs. They were all gone in 30 seconds! Thank goodness Robby had Daddy's help or he wouldn't have gotten anything!

This week Grandma Carol and Great Grandma visited us from Seattle. We had a great time together catching up, playing, and a little site seeing. Robby discovered a new favorite activity...taking his pants off. Below are pictures with him rough-housing with his Grandma's and his little bare legs.
We also got the chance to have lunch with one of my best friends from childhood. It's been a long time since we've seen each other and it was great to catch up while letting our kids play.
It was a great week and we miss you!

The Bounce House

Today we all went to the Bounce House with my Moms group. Its an indooor soccer arena that has 10 huge inflatables set up. Kids get to jump, bounce and go wild. This was our second time going and this time I made Rob go with us. (being pregnant and bouncing around was not a good combination last time!) Robby really liked playing and it wore him out!

The difficult part was trying to get pictures while everyone and everything was bouncing around...

Today marks my 32nd week. Only 8 weeks to go!

The baby weighs close to 4lbs and is 17in long. From this point forward the baby is supposed to gain about 1lb every 2 weeks. This baby is still more active then Robby was. Whenever I lie flat on my back he really has a fit and kicks me alot. In fact, during my doctors appointments we are supposed to lie on our back to get the heartbeat, and they always comment on how strong his kicks and punches are.

We are excited to meet this little guy...time is going bye fast!

The Science Center

I belong to a mothers group of stay at home moms in our local area. Today we all took our kids to the Science Center. Robby had a great time playing and touching things. Alot of it was too old for him, but he still enjoyed it. He really liked playing in the little grocery store. Everything was just his size - produce section, refrigerater section, shelves of boxed and canned goods, plus cash registers. Rob joined us and had a good time too...

Next week we are going to the Bounce House...stay tunned!

Every night Rob tells this story to Robby. Robby loves it and will sit on Daddy's lap, holding his hands and stares straight into his eyes. However, tonight he was a little distracted because Grandma Karen was visiting, but I am glad we finally got this on video....enjoy.

A Big Boy!

Robby is now a big boy! This weekend we made our guest room into his new room. He is now learning to sleep in a big boy bed. He really loves sleeping in his crib, so we are slowly working to get him used to his new bed. We've started out with just naps so far. His normal nap time was from 2-3 hours. The first two times he slept in his new bed, his naps were only 1 hour. But today he napped for 3 hours! Soon we will try sleeping all night in here. He really likes playing in his new room because we decorated it with animals, which are his favorite. (We had to keep the decorating as cheap as possible, but we still wanted it special for him, and he loves it! I found alot of the things in the Target dollar bins!)

Now its time to focus on getting the nursery ready for the new little one that's coming soon...

Third Trimester

Today marks 28 weeks in my pregnancy...we have started the third and final trimester! Only 12 weeks to go! For those who have been begging to see my belly, here is a recent picture.

The baby now weighs approximately 2 1/2 lbs and length is close to 15 3/4 inches. I don't feel the baby move and kick as much lately...I guess he is running out of stretching room.

Time is going bye really fast. We are focusing on spending time with Robby as this will be the last time he will be the only child in our lives. He is going to love having a little brother soon!

While in Seattle, Grandma Carol and I took Robby to the mall. He got to ride the carousel for the first time. He loved it. He really liked looking at all the animals, but was afraid of the dragon. We are looking forward to summer...maybe he will be big enough to ride on the rides at the fair!

Christmas part 2 of 2

Last weekend we had Auntie Manesseh and her boyfriend over from Spokane. We were able to celebrate Christmas with them and had a great time. Of course, Robby was spoiled with lots of kisses, candy and presents!

Christmas-part 1 of 2

We are finally getting a chance to post pictures from Christmas in Seattle. We were able to visit with family for two weeks, and returned home on New Year's Eve. Robby got sick on New Year's Day and had a fever for 7 days and a double ear infection. He lost alot of weight and strength. Please keep him in prayer as he is still recovering.
